Pilates Soft Ball — 25 cm
The most versatile prop in Pilates — and the one most beginners underestimate.
Held between the knees during bridges it keeps your hips aligned. Placed under the pelvis it supports the lower back. Squeezed during the Hundred it switches on the deep core muscles you are trying to find.

Questions
How firm should it be?
Soft. Inflate only until it gives easily under the palm of your hand. A firm ball fights you; a soft one gives feedback. Most people over-inflate on the first try.
What is it used for?
Between the knees in bridges and the Hundred, under the pelvis for support, between the hands for shoulder work, or against a wall for roll-downs.
Why 25 cm?
It is the size used in most studio classes, and the size the Mat Society four-week plan is written around.
How do I look after it?
Wipe with a damp cloth. Keep out of direct sunlight and away from radiators — heat degrades the PVC over time.
